Chef Jamie Oliver has partnered with a leading South African retailer to promote healthy eating and wellness.

Checkers has recently announced a collaboration with the globally recognised chef and healthy eating advocate to promote its new partnership with Discovery Vitality’s HealthyFood benefit, which was launched on September 1.

Oliver, well-known for his commitment to healthy eating, believes the Checkers HealthyFood benefit to be a positive initiative for shoppers in South Africa.

“Anything that can help people on the path to cooking and eating delicious, nutritious food is a win in my book.
“We have to acknowledge that this journey starts with our shopping baskets,” Oliver said.

Oliver believes that by incentivising customers to choose healthier food items when shopping, there’s a practical and meaningful way to encourage better dietary choices for families.

Checkers has over 300 stores across the country, including its popular Sixty60 delivery service.

Under this new partnership, Vitality members will be rewarded for selecting any of the more than 2,500 HealthyFood products available.

These products can be found in Checkers, Checkers Hyper, and Checkers Foods stores across the country, as well as through the Checkers Sixty60 delivery service.

Vitality members will receive HealthyFoods rewards as Discovery Miles, which can be converted into cash or used for purchases.

To take advantage of this partnership, Xtra Savings members must select Checkers and Checkers Sixty60 as their primary Vitality HealthyFood retailer on Discovery.
