The trial of a man accused of a spate of housebreakings in Soweto was postponed in the Protea Magistrate’s Court yesterday so police could check if he had a record, Gauteng police said.
Xolani Cheza, 23, was expected to appear again today for a bail application, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubele said.
He was arrested in Emndeni on September 18 by police acting on a tip-off. Cheza was charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, housebreaking and theft, and possession of firearms. – Sapa
