EFF leader Julius Malema said President Cyril Ramaphosa must go to hell, accusing him of being behind attempts to remove Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane from her position without evidence.
Malema said Mkhwebane had previously made negative findings against Ramaphosa.
He was speaking during a media briefing yesterday at the party’s headquarters in Johannesburg following EFF’s Central Command Team meeting on the 14th and 15th of May 2022. He touched on a number of issues including the murder of slain Hillary Gardee, State Capture Report, state owned entities woes and more.
Malema said Mkhwebane was still in court to oppose some of the processes that must be followed by both Ramaphosa and Parliament, in connection with the PP’s impeachment.
“We think that the committee should postpone until these matters are settled in parliament. There is no need to be in a hurry especially when dealing with matters of that nature. It is important that every little aspect is satisfied so that the outcomes of that parliament process is not questioned by anyone.,” Malema said.
He said he does not care how many cases Mkhwebane has lost, saying she cannot be fired for losing cases.
“What would be the bases of saying she is incompetant of maybe 10 000 cases and only five is overlooked, and because the five includes Ramaphosa, what is so special about Ramaphosa that he must not be investigated and rulings must not be made against him, he must go to hell.
“Ramaphosa must be investigated, the PP must rule against him like all of us must take the PP for a review and if he has a case they will set aside PP’s rulings and life must go on,” Malema said.
Malema said the PP’s office should not be destroyed because the PP found against Ramaphosa.
“Who is Ramaphosa” A man with questionable credentials, a man who is alleged that he collaborated with Apartheid police. He is not a highly decorated freedom fighter. We can’t destroy the PP’s office for Ramaphosa, we can't do that for even former President Nelson Mandela,” Malema said.
Malema said the EFF will not entertain the Zondo Commission Reports, saying that the whole process R2 billion to fight factional battles in the ANC.
He said SAA is not for sale and vowed to do everything in EFF’s power to reverse the sale.
He announced that his party was consulting with its lawyers to urgently stop the sale of SAA to Takatso Consortium - a “politically connected group” which is linked to “white capitalists” in South Africa.
“We have referred the matter to our lawyers because we believe strongly that we should take this matter to court and make sure that this deal is reversed. There is no airline that can be sold for R51, not even a single part. We are being taken for a ride and we are being u“The same thing Denel is going through, it is going to be sold for R21 and Eskom will be sold for R1. State’s assets are being sold to the friends of politically connected and we are not going to sit back and allow that nonsense,” Malema said
Malema said Zondo thinks Judges are untouchable,
He said EFF is fully behind ANC NEC member Tony Yengeni in lodging a complaint against Zondo.
Malema said he does not understand why Zondo is currently descending into a political arena as a judge.
Malema said he feels that Zondo’s conduct in a statement he made,,, “the election of President Cyril Ramaphosa as the ANC president was saving the country from more damage”.
Yengeni wrote to the Judicial Commission Service in his personal capacity where he lambasted Zondo of political meddling in his fourth part of the Zondo Commission report.
In the fourth part of the report of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into State Capture, Zondo, who chaired the commission, said more damage could have been done if Ramaphosa was not elected.
“We are fully behind Yengeni, we think Zondo is too forward and has no limit, he thinks that judges are unthinkable, that is why he has given himself a responsibility to enter even political terrain,” said Malema.
He further said “What would judges have to do or say with regard to the outcomes of political conferences of political parties? Judges must know the limit and Zondo has got no limit”.
Judges are respected for their judgements not for their political views or activities, Zondo is a factionalist that support Ramaphosa’s second term that is why he saw it necessary for him to say his elections rescued us, he is effectively saying that if they don’t elect Ramaphosa in the ANC conference in December we are going to be in trouble.” Malema said.
Malema called on the conduct committee of the JSC to discipline Zondo the same way they did with former Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng.
Malema said the party believes that Hillary Gardee was killed for a ritual judging by the manner her body was badly injured.
Gardee, 28, is a daughter of former EFF Secretary General Godrich Gardee. She was kidnapped and murdered and her body dumped in a field just outside Nelspruit, Mpumalanga three weeks ago.
Malema announced that a fourth suspect had been arrested in connection with the murder of Gardee.
So far three suspect who are ANC connected, namely Philemon Lukhele, Sipho Mkhatshwa and Mduduzi Nkala are facing charges of kidnapping, rape, possession of an illegal firearm, defeating the ends of justice and murder. They will appear again in the Nelspruit Magistrates Court on 9 June 2022.
However Mpumalanga Police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala told The Star yesterday that there are still three suspects.
“We are involved in the investigation, we have employed private investigators. Majority of the people who were arrested were arrested through their intervention, the latest being somewhere in Witbank, Mpumalanga. It was us who said to the police that there is a person who was looking for an account at FNB bank so that they can transfer R500 000 into that account, so that he can cash it,” Malema said.
Last week The Star reported that a sangoma alerted police about one of the suspects who wanted cleansing after they had allegedly killed someone.
“It looked like something that had to do with a ritual and therefore I will not be personally shocked when there is muthi involved because the way they were stabbing her body and breasts, it was now beyond the issues of just murder and rape, it had to do with something that people are obsessed with and we are hoping to get the truth and the only thing that will satisfy us is if these people are all arrested.
