Prayers and well-wishes continue flooding in for rapper Siyabonga Nene, fondly known as Big Zulu, who was involved in a car accident on Sunday. His record label, Inkabi Nation, confirmed the news.
The record label shared the news on social media, urging fans to keep him in their prayers.
“Nkabi Nation it’s sad to announce that Big Zulu was involved in a car accident last night (Sunday). Please keep him in your prayers.”
The label also assured fans that they would keep them updated on his progress through their WhatsApp channel.
This follows an earlier incident this month involving another artist from the label, Xolwa (real name Xolani Shabalala), who was also in a car accident. Fortunately, he survived, although the details of the accident remain unclear.
Fans and industry peers have been flooding social media with their well-wishes for the rapper.

“Big Zulu escaped with minor injuries in a horrific car accident. Kuphike Idlozi Wishing him a speedy recovery,” said @NalaThokozane.

The rapper first made his mark with his debut single, 'Ungqongqoshe Wongqongqoshe,' which quickly gained traction among hip-hop fans in Mzansi in 2019.
The success of the single was followed by his debut album Ushun Wenkabi, as well as his third studio album, Ichwane Lenyoka (2021), which produced three chart-topping singles: the fan favourites 'Mali Eningi,' 'Inhlupheko,' and 'Umuzi eSandton.
In an updated statement this morning, the record label confirmed that Zulu was making great progress and that there were no life-threatening concerns.
“Morning Inkabi community, firstly, we would like to send our deepest and sincerest gratitude to all of you for your support and prayers. Zulu is making great progress, fortunately, there are no life-threatening issues, he is clear from those. Thank you once again. We will be giving you more updates as it goes,” the statement reads.
