On Saturday evening on a wet brewery field in Bridgend, Wales, the Ospreys overturned a halftime deficit to defeat their visitors 37-24 for a bonus point win in their second match of the new season.

It is also the second consecutive time the Welsh side has been victorious over the Stormers after beating them in Cape Town last season.

They did it in fine fashion on Saturday, scoring their fourth try via a powerful rolling maul that was turned into a penalty try after the Cape side brought it down illegally according to the referee.

That was not the start Stormers director of rugby John Dobson would've wanted for his side, but considering they had limited exposure to competitive rugby in the pre-season, some stop-starts were expected - and that is exactly what happened.

The one moment they looked brilliant on the attack and played their Stormers brand of rugby, but the next they coughed the ball up way too easily which allowed the home side to get out of trouble.

The Ospreys test, though, was the perfect match for the Stormers to see exactly where they stand at the start of the season and what areas they have to sharpen up on. And they would've found out exactly where the areas are that they must work on.

Although they didn't get the reward in the scrums they should have at times, Dobson will be happy with how that facet of the game went. The front row of Sti Sithole, tighthead Neethling Fouche and hooker Joseph Dweba had the upper hand at times and looked solid.

Then there was the return of lock JD Schickerling and the abrasive runner added that physicality, but also did well in the lineouts. Being rewarded with a try on his return to the Stormers jersey was the cherry on the cake.

Defensively, though, the Cape side must sharpen up, especially away from home where they won't always be on the side of the referee calls. They are known for their solid defence, and at times it was there, but they won't be happy with the four tries conceded. Discipline also hampered the side and that penalty late in the game after being offside from an attacking kick, cost them the game and a losing bonus point.

It's from there the home side scored their fourth try to seal the five points and win.
