This year a number of local celebrities said their “I dos”.
One of the most surprising weddings was that of Cassper Nyovest and Pulane Mojaki.
The award-winning rapper tied the knot in April.
After the lobola festivities, they had a beautiful traditional wedding ceremony. The couple looked stunning in their traditional wear.
Pulane wore a blue printed floor-length wedding dress and Cassper wore a matching outfit.
On the day of the wedding, social media was abuzz with videos and images filtering through.
Drip footwear founder Lekau Sehoana, DJ Vettys and comedian Primo Baloyi were all in attendance and shared visuals of the happy couple.
As one of South Africa's most influential musicians, his wedding sparked widespread excitement and congratulations from fans and industry peers alike.
Cassper, who is a born again Christian, shared images of his wedding day with a caption praising God for where he is in his life.
“It’s all for the glory of God. I stand today a changed man, a man of faith, honesty, peace, integrity, love and honour wisdom. It’s by the grace of God that I’m a changed man. Many may call me names and question my salvation but God has called me and I answered with pride. To lead the lost man of today!! I’m not better than anyone, I’m just different from my old self for the grace of God is upon me!!! Thank you Lord!!"
Another muso who tied the knot this year is award-winning singer Chad Saaiman who married his girlfriend of five years Savanah Smith in April.
The couple had an intimate wedding ceremony that took place in Muizenberg Cape Town.
The bride, who is a medical doctor, stunned in a long figure-hugging white dress designed by Lauren R Couture while the groom wore a white jacket, black bow tie and black pants.
Chad said that the highlight of the day was seeing his bride for the first time.
“She walked down the aisle and it was wonderful. I surprised her with special wishes from Eric Benet and Craig David as we played their songs. That was special,” he told the Daily Voice.
Celebrities who attended the wedding included Marc Lottering, Katlego Maboe and Keeno Lee Hector.
Another memorable wedding was that of Springbok flyhalf Manie Libbok and long-term partner Verna-Lee.
The couple, who have been together since their high school days, marked this significant milestone with a stunning white wedding at a scenic venue known as Seeplaas, located between George and Mossel Bay in October.
The bride stunned in a simple yet classic white dress with a square neckline and train while Manie looked dapper in a camel-toned suit with a matching bowtie.
The lovebirds met in Grade 11 at Hoërskool Outeniqua in George.
Manie proposed to his high school sweetheart during a romantic picnic at Klein Roosboom Boutique Winery in Cape Town.
Even though their wedding day was a big day for the couple, details of the event were kept largely under wraps, with neither the newlyweds nor their guests sharing any images from the day on social media.
In November TV and radio personality Masechaba Ndlovu married Ntethelelo Faku in a secret ceremony.
Taking to Instagram she shared an image of her wedding day saying: “Yesterday I married my best friend, now my HUSBAND. My chief strategist, my lover, my LIFE.”
“As we embark on this journey together, may no weapon formed against us prosper. This was the happiest day of my life.
“I love you, @official_ntethe, and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you.”
This is Masechaba’s third marriage.
She was first married to businessman Mfundo Ntsibande, then in 2015, she married Vusi Ndlovu.
They parted ways in 2018.
