As we are still in the thick of winter, with snow on our mountains, we reached out to Jaco Buitendag, CEO at Curve Gear for his favourite winter picks this season and how to style them.
Here are his top tips for keeping warm, but stylish this winter.
Layer-up
Layering is key in winter, but it’s important to do it right. Start with a good base layer like a fitted long-sleeve top, add a warm sweater, and top it off with a stylish jacket like a sherpa parker.
Invest in quality outerwear
A durable, warm jacket is a must-have. A puffer jacket is a versatile option that can be worn with both casual and semi-formal outfits.
Choose versatile pants
Utility pants are perfect for winter. They offer functionality without compromising style, making them suitable for work and leisure.
Accessorize wisely:
Don’t forget accessories like scarves, beanies, and gloves. They not only keep you warm but also add a stylish touch to your outfit.
Footwear matters
Opt for boots that provide both comfort and protection. Safety boots and sneakers ensure you’re prepared for any terrain while maintaining a sleek look.
“Often men lead dynamic lifestyles, from spending all day on-site getting their hands dirty to enjoying outdoor adventures with friends and family on the weekends. We understand the diverse needs of South African men, and versatile clothing that seamlessly transitions from professional settings to casual outings if essential.
“Whether you're staying safe on the job site with rugged safety boots or looking sharp at a weekend braai in a rugby polo shirt, clothes should offer men the option to tackle any situation with confidence and style,” says Buitendag.
Curve Gear is set to launch its Woodlands store on 3 August, with the aim of making high-quality, locally-produced menswear more accessible.
