This week, top local exhibition builders David Davidson and Ray Hudson are at Garden World in Muldersdrift to re-create Botanical Landscapes, South Africa’s gold award-winning exhibit to the 2011 Chelsea Flower Show.
The exhibit features two World Heritage sites - the Cape Floral Kingdom and the Richtersveld - both areas which are counted among the 25 biodiversity hotspots worldwide.
Dominated by a central wall (2m high by 7.5m wide), the stand is divided into scenic back-to-back panoramas of Table Mountain and the Richtersveld.
The South African exhibit is the highlight of the Garden World Spring Festival which opens on Saturday, July 30.
To celebrate the opening of the show, Hudson and Davidson will give a talk on the challenges, stresses and elation at building an exhibit at the Chelsea Flower Show.
