Local music stars Nomfundo Moh and De Mthuda (real name Mthuthuzeli Gift Khoza) are getting the holiday festivities started with their new song “Nangu”.

Released on Friday, November 22, the track fuses the singer and songwriter’s powerful vocals with the record producer and DJ's signature amapiano beats.

Stepping out of her comfort zone, Moh's venture into the amapiano genre showcases her versatility and ability to evolve as an artist.

The statement added: “This collaboration not only highlights the incredible talent of both artists but also marks a significant moment in the South African music scene.”

De Mthuda has earned widespread acclaim over the years as one of the nation’s top amapiano pioneers. Some of his hits such as "Shesha Geza" and "John Wick" have gone to take the music world by storm.

Meanwhile, the single comes after the release of Moh’s third studio album “Twenty Four”, which is named after her age, and was released in September.

The nine-track album, which features collaborations with Cassper Nyovest and Msaki on “Umusa”, Boohle on the album’s title track “Uyazkhohlwa” and Zuko SA on “Muntu Wami”, marks a significant milestone in her career.

It offers an intimate glimpse into her thoughts, ideals and unwavering belief in love, encapsulated in her twenty-fourth year of life.

She also used the album to send strong messages to fans, including with “Uyazkhohlwa”, which translates to “please behave yourself because you seem to forget who you are”.

“It is a reminder to a loved one to stay true to themselves in a world where people are trying to fit in,” she explained in a recent interview with “Independent Media Lifestyle”.

“It is the song that reminds one to be rooted in who they are and when they feel lost and need to get back on track.”
