Political analyst and sociologist, Tessa Dooms has been announced as the host of Power FM's breakfast show from March.
Dooms is the latest addition to the Power FM family after former Economic Freedom Fighters spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi was announced as the new host of the Power Talk after he recently announced he would be leaving party politics after he was suspended by the EFF for failing to inform the leadership of Floyd Shivambu's then imminent departure to the MK Party.
PowerFM announced that Dooms will be joining the station on March 3 and she will be hosting the “Power Breakfast” which airs from 6am to 9am.
“Get ready for a dynamic new era on POWER98.7’s Breakfast Show as we welcome a fresh and inspiring voice: Tessa Dooms, one of South Africa’s most vibrant social activists, who joins the station on the 3rd of March 2025.
“Tessa is dynamic leader and an influential champion of democracy and human rights, with a diverse career spanning several fields, including activism, academia, and policy Development.” the station’s statement revealed.
Dooms took to X to announce the exciting news with her fans.
“Hello Power People! I am excited to be joining the @powerfm987 family as the host of #PowerBreakfast.
“Thank you to the Powerfm family for setting me the challenge to wake the nation up and get South Africa talking about the big issues. Now we are talking,” she captioned her post.

Ndlozi was announced last week on February 14 as the newest edition to the Power fm family and as the new host of “Power Talk” which airs from 9am to 12pm.

Dooms will be joined by sports anchor and journalist Bareng-Batho Kortjaas as the show’s sports presenter and show contributor on “Power Breakfast” alongside traffic presenter, Lebohang Phokela.
Kortjaas will also present the “Power Sports Extra” which will air on Fridays from 6pm to 8pm.
PowerFM also announced that Chris Vick will also be making his return to the station. Vick, who is referred to as the founding voice of the station, will be hosting the weekend talk show “Power Week” on Sundays from 9am till 12pm from March 2.
