British singer Liam Payne had a net worth of $70 million (R1.23 billion) at the time of his death, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

The 31-year-old singer passed away on October 16, 2024 after falling off a balcony at an Argentinian hotel.

Payne rose to fame as one of the five members of boy band One Direction. Together, the band released five albums and sold over 70 million records worldwide.

The band’s 2014 Where We Are Tour, which grossed $290.2 million, was their highest grossing tour while their concert film One Direction: This is Us grossed close to $70 million at the box office worldwide.

Band member Zayn Malik left the group in 2015, after which One Direction went on hiatus in January 2016.

Payne worked on projects as a solo singer and a producer. Payne collaborated with various artists including Cheryl Cole, Juicy J and Quavo.

According to Real Estates, the singer has a five-bedroom Georgian style property that was listed for $8.9 million in Surrey, United Kingdom.

The property also features seven bathrooms, white interiors, space for entertainment as well as a garden, a swimming pool, a soccer pitch and a tennis court.

The pop star also shared a Spanish style rental mansion with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy that he recently moved into, according to The Mirror.

Payne was paying $9,500 a month to rent the $1.73 million mansion that is located in Florida.

The Florida property has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, an outdoor courtyard, a saltwater pool, and waterfalls.

The singer featured in various fashion and beauty campaigns including Hugo Boss.

Payne who was born in Wolverhampton, grew up with his mum, dad and two older sisters. The singer has a 7-year-old child with his former partner Cheryl Cole.
