Audi has unveiled the interior design and features of its upcoming Q9, the brand’s first large full-size SUV, ahead of its launch in around two months.
The Q9 will offer up to seven seats, electrically powered doors, a large panoramic sunroof with switchable transparency, and an updated 4D sound system designed to create an immersive in-car experience.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner said the Q9 reflects the company’s focus on redefining premium mobility through interior comfort and technology.
The SUV will be available in both six-seat and seven-seat configurations. The optional six-seat layout includes two electrically adjustable individual seats in the second row with ventilation features, while the seven-seat option allows all three second-row seats to accommodate child seats.
Audi said all seats are partially power-adjustable as standard, while the third-row seatbacks can be folded down individually using electric controls.
For the first time in an Audi vehicle, all doors can be operated electrically. The doors can be controlled using the key, myAudi app, MMI system, brake pedal, or seatbelt buckle. Surround sensors with obstacle detection can prevent the doors from opening into nearby objects or approaching road users.
The Q9 also features a panoramic sunroof measuring about 1.5 square metres. Drivers can switch sections of the laminated safety glass between transparent and opaque settings for glare protection and privacy. The top trim level includes integrated lighting with 84 LEDs and 30 colour options.
At the heart of the new Audi Q9 is a spacious, exclusive interior – conceived as a sanctuary for family, business, and long journeys.

Inside, ambient contour lighting extends across the dashboard and doors, while the updated Bang & Olufsen premium sound system includes 4D sound technology and headrest speakers. Actuators in the front seats allow occupants to physically feel audio effects.
Audi said the Q9’s interior materials include wool upholstery, Dinamica microfiber, leather blends, and fine Nappa leather, alongside new wood and carbon-fibre trim finishes.
The SUV also includes wireless smartphone charging pads, USB-C ports with up to 100 watts of charging power, and a new aluminium rail system in the luggage compartment designed to secure cargo.
Audi said the full details and specifications of the Q9 will be revealed during its world premiere in Summer 2026.
