New faces join ‘Generations: The Legacy’ as iconic characters take their final bow

Tinah Mnumzana will be joining the cast of "Generations: The Legacy" along with other popular actors.

South Africa's long-running telenovela, "Generations: The Legacy" will welcome four new faces. 

With it's 34th season under way, the show is set to welcome, Tinah Mnumzana, Nozuko Ntshangase, Phillip Tipo Tindisa and Sannah Mchunu.

Famed for her role on "Muvhango", Mnumzana will step into the role of Ausi Nokwazi Lukhozi on Monday, June 30.

Characterised as impulsive and spontaneous, Ausi navigates life with a recklessness that often leaves her at the mercy of her choices.

She's described as a street-smart survivor loyal to the streets, she is both talkative and fiercely opinionated, believing she's always right.

"It feels so good and beautiful at the same time to be part of the biggest production. The crew and cast are amazing and have welcomed me so warmly," said Mnumzana.

Viewers will also meet Ntshangase on Wednesday, July 9, who is set to portray the ambitious Vuyelwa Nxumalo. 

Vuyelwa is a product of privilege, having attended private school since grade one. Despite her nurturing instincts, she is fiercely determined, hoping to establish herself before the age of 30.

Ntshangase shared: "I am so excited to join the mother of all soapies. Breathing life to the character of Vuyelwa is amazing and I can’t wait for the people to witness the magic."

Nozuko Ntshangase joins the show, playing the role of Vuyelwa Nxumalo.

Meanwhile, Tindisa brings depth to the show as Donald Brave, a character shaped by hardship and survival.

Often mistaken for a criminal, Donald struggles with anger and insecurity while grappling with the challenges of poverty.

With a complicated background and a connection to the mining world, Tindisa describes joining "Generations – The Legacy" as an honour.

"I’m honoured to join the cast and crew and I am happy to be part of the family."

He will be on screen from Friday, July 11.

Completing this impressive line-up is Mchunu, who will embody Sis’Phindi MaNxumalo come Wednesday, July 23.

This multifaceted character appears modest and kind yet possesses a sharp edge when provoked.

She embodies a sense of protective bitterness and a struggle for confidence, which adds layers to her portrayal.

Expressing her feelings upon receiving the call for the role, Mchunu shared: "When I got the call that I got the role, I felt like break dancing. I have always wanted to be part of the biggest local production. I thank the almighty for this biggest opportunity."

Sannah Mchunu joins the show as Sis’Phindi MaNxumalo.

Additionally, the show greets back Buntu Petse as Nontle Majola while bidding farewell to beloved characters like Detective Pele Dali Malinga, portrayed by Andile Nebulane and Dr. Siphesihle Cele, played by Pearl Noxolo Monama.

"SABC1 and Morula Pictures wish them well with their future endeavours as they make their exit towards the end of the year," read a statement from the channel.
