And while the internet is already melting over the idea of “Captain America, the dad,” Evans and Baptista are doing what they do best: keeping things low-key.

Chris Evans has officially swapped his "Captain America" shield for baby bottles.
The Marvel superstar and his Portuguese actress wife, Alba Baptista, have welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Alma Grace Evans Baptista, on Saturday, October 25, in Massachusetts in the US.
According to birth certificates obtained by "TMZ", the couple chose to give their daughter both of their last names - a sweet symbol of unity between the famously private pair.
And while the internet is already melting over the idea of “Captain America, the dad, Evans and Baptista are doing what they do best: keeping things low-key.
No social media baby reveal, no glossy magazine spread, just two new parents quietly soaking up their first days of parenthood.
The Hollywood-meets-Europe love story began quietly and blossomed away from flashing cameras.
Evans, 44, and Baptista, 28, reportedly started dating in 2022, and by September 2023, they’d tied the knot in a small, private ceremony surrounded by family and a few Marvel co-stars.
They made their red-carpet debut at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, giving fans a glimpse of their effortless chemistry.
While Evans continued his press tours, Baptista, known for her breakout role in Netflix’s "Warrior Nun", took a graceful step back from public appearances. This choice only deepened fans’ fascination.
Rumours of a baby on the way started swirling earlier this year when Baptista’s father cheekily commented on a fan’s Father’s Day post: “Many thanks, dear Chris. Your turn is coming!”
Turns out, he wasn’t wrong.

For Evans, this moment has been years in the making.
The "Avengers" actor has been open about his love for family life and his desire to slow down from Hollywood’s fast lane.
“When you read about the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, or writers, most say it wasn’t their work they were proudest of, it was the families they built and the love they shared,” Evans told "People" Magazine in a 2022 interview after being named the Sexiest Man Alive.
That quote hits differently now that he’s holding his own daughter. He’s traded red carpets for nursery nights, and honestly, we can’t think of a more heartwarming sequel to his superhero saga.
Before becoming Mrs Evans, Baptista had already carved out an impressive international career. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, she speaks five languages: Portuguese, English, French, Spanish, and German. The actress earned recognition for her roles in "A Impostora", "Filha da Lei", "Jogo Duplo" and the British comedy, "Mrs Harris Goes to Paris".
But beyond the screen, Baptista’s life is grounded in compassion. In 2018, she volunteered at an orphanage in Cambodia, helping children access education, proof that her nurturing streak existed long before motherhood.
With her background in "Warrior Nun", it’s no surprise fans have already dubbed her “the Warrior Mom.”

The couple’s decision to keep their romance and pregnancy private feels refreshing in a world where celebrity lives are often lived out loud. Parenting experts say that this quiet approach can be grounding, especially for new parents adjusting to sleepless nights and public curiosity.
It’s fitting that one of Hollywood’s most beloved heroes is now taking on his most personal role yet. For Evans, who grew up in a close-knit Boston family, fatherhood isn’t a departure from who he is; it’s a homecoming.
In an earlier interview with "The Hollywood Reporter", he reflected fondly on his childhood traditions:
“Growing up, we would all sleep in the same room on Christmas Eve, watch a movie, and try to drift off amidst the excitement. That’s what I hope to give my kids those small, magical moments.”
Now, with baby Alma Grace in the picture, those dreams are coming full circle.
