South Africa’s iconic Table Mountain has been celebrated as one of the world’s most beautiful mountains.
According to a recent study conducted by Just Cover, an Irish travel insurance company, Table Mountain ranked 14th on the list of the globe's most stunning mountains.
The study analysed 56 mountain ranges worldwide, employing eye-tracking technology to determine which landscapes are the most visually captivating.
The mountains were scored based on how quickly they captured participants’ attention and how long they held their gaze.
In this analysis, South Africa's Table Mountain achieved a score of 62.6 out of 100.

Table Mountain is a flat-topped landmark that overlooks Cape Town, often referred to as the Mother City.
It is renowned for its distinctive "tablecloth" cloud, rich biodiversity, particularly its fynbos vegetation, hiking trails and a modern revolving cable car that transports visitors to its summit.
This ancient mountain, part of the Cape Fold belt, offers breathtaking views and a unique ecosystem within the Table Mountain National Park.

The Canadian Rockies took the top spot, scoring the highest overall (99.3) and holding participants' gaze the longest.
This iconic range, stretching across Alberta and British Columbia, is celebrated for its picture-perfect scenery, including the mirror-like waters of Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, as well as the breathtaking Icefields Parkway.
El Capitan, United States
El Capitan, located in Yosemite National Park, ranks second with an eye-catching score of 84.9.
This 900-metre granite monolith is one of the most recognisable rock formations globally, attracting rock climbers and nature photographers alike.
For those who prefer to admire the view without climbing, numerous vantage points throughout Yosemite Valley offer stunning perspectives of this iconic landmark.

Torres del Paine in Chile rounds out the top three with a score of 83.2, showcasing the most eye-catching mountain scenery in South America.
Its granite towers rise sharply, creating an unmistakable silhouette against the Patagonian sky, surrounded by glaciers, lakes as blue as the clear skies, and a vast wilderness that makes it a must-see destination for many travellers.
Slieve League, Ireland
Scoring 82.9, Slieve League in County Donegal ranks fourth overall and is Ireland's highest-ranking mountain.
Rising nearly 600 metres directly from the Atlantic Ocean, its sea cliffs are among the highest in Europe.
With breathtaking views across Donegal Bay, the mountain is accessible via walking routes, although the clifftop paths can be challenging, especially in winter.
Errigal Mountain, Ireland
Errigal Mountain, located in the Derryveagh Mountains of County Donegal, is Ireland's second entry in the top five with a score of 75.8.
