Two American TikTokers set out for a holiday in Nice, France, but instead found themselves on their way to Tunis in Tunisia, North Africa, after a booking mix-up.

Interestingly, Brittney Dzialo and her friend Hannah Kraft boarded a Tunisair flight in Rome, still convinced they were on their way to the French Riviera.

Midway through boarding, the pair began to doubt things and asked other passengers, “Is this going to Nice?” One woman answered, “Tunis, yeah. I thought you said ‘to Nice’, which is in France, that's why you confused me.”

This discovery sparked nervous laughter as the two pulled out maps on their phones to check where exactly they were headed.

By the time they questioned the cabin crew, it was too late to get off since their luggage was already in the cargo hold. So, they reluctantly stayed put as their European getaway turned into a trip to North Africa.

As they tried to make sense of the situation, their constant giggling and stopping in the aisle began to irritate fellow passengers. From the ones who were already seated to those who were eager to settle in.

In her caption, Dzialo later admitted that “the whole plane witnessed our spiral and either found it entertaining or hated us.”

On arrival in Tunisia, the confusion only grew worse as they tried explaining the mistake at the airport, but struggled with the language barrier and the similarity in sound between “to Nice” and “Tunis”.

Hours later, after pleading with staff, they finally secured a flight out.

The saga, shared across multiple TikTok posts, went viral. In her final update, Dzialo posted a video from the right destination at last, captioned: “Just two girls who finally got to Nice, France.”

The internet has since had a field day with their detour while also judging them hard, wondering how such a mishap could even happen.

“At the risk of sounding mean, how d*mb do you have to be for this to even happen,” asked TikTok user @Smackerelofhunny.

Another user, @Miss Teheuheu, said: “I’m confused?! The amount of signs, TVs, airport staff and gates, etc, how do you get on the wrong flight? Your boarding pass has all of your details, and the workers would know it’s the wrong flight before you get anywhere near the plane 🤦🏽‍♀️.”
