Air France has announced an extension of its seasonal route between Paris and Cape Town until May, next year.

This, the airline said, is due to the high demand for the service.

"Initially scheduled as a limited seasonal operation until end of March 2026, the direct route has proven immensely popular among both South African travellers heading to Europe and international visitors flocking to the Mother City," Air France said in a statement.

Flights are operated daily, departing from 8.50am and landing in Paris at 7.20pm while the return flight touches down in Cape Town at 6.45am following its departure from Paris at 6.30pm.

The extension comes as Cape Town continues to be one of South Africa’s most sought-after destinations, particularly during the northern hemisphere’s winter months, when travellers escape colder climates for Cape Town’s sunshine, beaches, and cultural vibrancy.

Country Manager Southern Africa at Air France–KLM, Wilson Tauro, said Cape Town remains one of the most inspiring destinations in our network.

"We are thrilled to see such strong demand for our seasonal Paris–Cape Town route.

"This extension not only reflects the continued appetite for travel between Cape Town and Europe but also reinforces Air France’s commitment to connecting South Africans to the world with style, comfort, and efficiency. We are thrilled to offer our customers a longer window to experience this highly seasonal popular route," Tauro said.
