South African singer Makhadzi, real name Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, is embracing rest, recovery, and a renewed sense of joy following a challenging start to the year.
“My body and mind were telling me I need a Sho't Left.”
These are the words of the Limpopo-born performer, who is currently in a relaxed mood while taking time out for herself.
The award-winning artist is enjoying a safari break at Aquila Private Game Reserve near Cape Town.
Known for attracting celebrity A-listers, the luxury reserve provided the perfect backdrop for Makhadzi to unwind.
Taking to social media, Makhadzi shared glimpses of her safari experience, including moments from a game drive and snapshots of her soaking in the serene surroundings.
“It’s a day free of stress, fatigue and depression. It’s going to be a beautiful day. We are going to let love lead. We are going to dance again. We’ve won in life, and we must now live it,” she said in the caption.
In one of her selfies, the singer is seen glowing and exuding joy as she poses with lions in the background.
She also shared a peaceful moment enjoying a meal under the gentle afternoon sun.
Her getaway comes as she prepares to hit the stage, with a performance scheduled for May 1 in Pretoria.
Despite her current positive energy, Makhadzi’s year began on a difficult note.
The singer was involved in a car accident on the morning of December 31, 2025, while travelling from Limpopo to Johannesburg.
Following the accident, she underwent surgery and was advised to take a 10-week break from performing to focus on her recovery.
However, her resilience shone through as she continued to create music during this period, even surprising fans with new releases.
On February 16, Makhadzi shared an update confirming her full recovery and return to work.
“I am feeling good and would like to thank all the staff members, nurses, and doctors from Netcare, Pholosho in Polokwane, for taking care of me from day one.”
Now back on her feet, the singer appears to be embracing both healing and happiness - taking time to reset while gearing up to do what she loves most: performing.
