In a stunning turn of fortune, Ithuba, the operator of the National Lottery, has celebrated the emergence of a new multi-millionaire from the latest lotto draw, as the winner has stepped forward to claim an astonishing jackpot of over R41 million.

The jackpot stems from Draw 2571, which unfolded on Wednesday, August 27.

The winner secured their fortune through a R30 wager made via the Capitec banking app, opting for a manual selection of numbers.

Spring has epitomised renewal for this lucky champion, who expressed sheer delight at the prospect of newfound wealth.

“I mixed it up with different numbers, selecting them randomly,” he shared, revealing that he indulged in various National Lottery games up to four times a week.

His previous winnings had never eclipsed R303, making this latest triumph a life-altering event.

The moment that changed everything came when he checked the results online.

“I cried tears of joy. I have always dreamed of winning,” he exclaimed.

Until now, he had yet to relay the joyous news to anyone, preferring to absorb the enormity of his good fortune in solitude.

His ambitions are soaring.

"I'm planning to buy my dream house and car - things that would have taken me a lifetime to accomplish,” he said.

The prospect of financial security offers him a profound peace of mind, a sentiment echoed by Ithuba's CEO, Charmaine Mabuza, who congratulated the winner: “We're always thrilled to see dreams come true. We hope he enjoys the comfort of his new life and all the opportunities his multi-million status brings.”

Beyond personal gain, the winner hinted at philanthropic aspirations post-victory.

“After securing my future, I'll definitely consider giving back."
