OpenAI’s popular AI chatbot, ChatGPT, is reportedly facing a global outage, with users around the world experiencing service disruptions and limited access to the platform.

Users have taken to social media platforms to report difficulties accessing ChatGPT, with many expressing frustration over interrupted sessions and slow response times.

An X (formerly Twitter)  user, @hackernewbie  asked whether others were experiencing similar issues with ChatGPT, saying that all the responses seemed to have disappeared.

"Anybody else facing this with ChatGPT? All the responses seem to be gone?

Meanwhile, @BunBrida also posted on X, sharing a screenshot and asking why the popular platform wasn’t responding to him.

"Is ChatGPT down, or is he ghosting me"

Some users in South Africa have also reported issues accessing ChatGPT.

According to Downdetector, reports of issues with OpenAI services, including ChatGPT, have spiked significantly in the past 24 hours. The platform monitors problem reports submitted by users and flags incidents when the volume exceeds typical levels for a given time of day.

However, OpenAI, has yet to issue a official statement addressing the  reported outage.

The platform has experienced occasional outages previously, including reports from users in South Africa.
