Apple has officially confirmed its event for September 9 2025, where it is expected to unveil the new iPhone 17 Pro, a device that is said to deliver significant upgrades in design, camera, and battery life.

According to reports, Apple is expected to announce the full iPhone 17 lineup, including the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, alongside new Apple watch models and other innovative devices at the event.

The iPhone 17 Pro is rumoured to feature several exciting enhancements, including a redesigned rear with a rectangular camera bump. Its body is also expected to be made from a solid block of aluminium, providing strength and a sleek appearance.

The phone is also said to feature a triple 48MP camera system, with the Pro Max model possibly including an exclusive 5-8x optical zoom lens for improved zoom.

Battery life is expected to improve significantly, especially on the Pro Max, which may come equipped with a larger 5000mAh battery. Furthermore, reverse wireless charging is rumoured to allow users to charge accessories like AirPods and Apple Watches directly from the phone.

While Apple has yet to confirm regional availability, reports suggest that, based on the company’s typical launch pattern, pre-orders for the iPhone 17 Pro will begin globally on Friday, September 12, 2025. South African availability may follow shortly after.
