Local rappers have been dropping big singles every other week, with new albums from the likes of Cassper Nyovest, AKA and K.O expected. Besides busting out killer rhymes, these hip-hop artists also know a thing or two about style.

Riky Rick deserves mad respect. He’s shaken up the industry by repping Gucci in just about everything he does. He’s evolved from barber shop rapper to a guy who now fits in at Paris Fashion Week and on the pages of the New York Times. Never mind his Kotini Academy for young fashionistas. Here’s a man who is constantly reinventing himself. Check the new GQ Style to see what we mean.

Dash

With a face like his (not to mention his charisma), Dash was made for TV. What we weren’t expecting was his eclectic sense of style that dares to push the boundaries of what clothes say about him. There is no stopping this man, and we look forward to what he’s going to pull out his closet this year.

Anatii

Anatii’s style is hard to define, since the Electronic Bushman goes left when the rest of the fashion world goes right. He’s doing more than rocking Balmain gear these days, and has developed a simple, clean aesthetic. And like us at GQ, he’s a sneakerhead. When a new shoe is released you can bet that Anatii will soon be sporting a pair.

Da L.E.S

Da L.E.S is celebrating 10 years in hip-hop – think of all the trends he has seen come and go since his krumping days. His fashion sense spells freedom. Just look at that flashy two-piece he was wearing in the music video for ‘Lifestyle’. Expect to see more experimentation from this music and fashion veteran.

When it comes to dressing the part and making a statement, Mr Forbes is high on our list. He has fashion flair and knows how to bring out his dapper side in a suit. He’s also got a penchant for mixing sportswear with high-end fashion to great effect.

Solo

Solo is a true gentleman of hip-hop. Every time this guy appears on camera he looks sharp. He’s particularly good at dressing for his body, and always looks comfortable and well-groomed.
