Stellenbosch FC has announced a significant development in its squad: talented midfielder Devin Titus has signed a new long-term contract with the club, solidifying his presence in the Cape Winelands for the foreseeable future.
This extension marks a notable milestone in the 24-year-old’s career, as he has already surpassed 150 appearances for the team since his 2021 debut.
“Stellenbosch FC is the club that allowed me to follow my dream of becoming a professional footballer, so I’m pleased to have signed a new contract here,” Titus expressed with palpable enthusiasm.
“I’m incredibly grateful to the club and all the coaches, staff, and players who have given me this platform to showcase my talent, and hopefully, there is even more to come in the next few years.”
The local talent, who emerged through Stellenbosch FC’s robust development structures, made his professional debut against Black Leopards at just 19 years old. Since then, he has become the club’s third most-capped player of all time, a remarkable feat for such a young athlete.
In addition to his durability on the pitch, Titus has also showcased his brilliance in high-stakes matches. He played an integral role in the squad that triumphed in the 2023 Carling Knockout, where he was also awarded the tournament’s MVP, further highlighting his ability to perform in critical moments.
His impressive performances continued when he was named in the Nedbank Cup Team of the Season the following year, reinforcing his status as a key player at Stellenbosch FC.
The midfielder’s contributions were notable in the domestic arena; he was pivotal in helping Stellies reach back-to-back MTN8 finals in 2024 and 2025, showcasing his skill and determination on the pitch.
Additionally, his consistent form and remarkable talent paved the way for his selection into the Bafana Bafana squad, signalling that he is now on the radar of the national team management.
As Stellenbosch FC prepares for future challenges, Titus’ renewed commitment will undoubtedly be a vital asset to the team. With a bright future ahead, both the club and the player will embark on exciting journeys together in the upcoming seasons.
