DURBAN City boss Farook Kadodia might as well have intensified coach Gavin Hunt's mandate saying home games at the Chatsworth Stadium are "a must" win as they owe it to their fans who rallied behind them to Betway Premiership promotion last season.

Speaking to Independent Media exclusively on Tuesday, Kadodia said they look to display that attitude with their next game against Siwelele- another Premiership newbies.

Kadodia said he wants his boys to find a bit more stability and rhythm as they settle into the season after a decent start to their Premiership campaign with two wins, two draws and a loss.

But the mandate is finding stability in home games at Chatsworth Stadium.

“You know, to come back into the PSL (Premier Soccer League) and still get the support at Chatsworth stadium was really heartwarming to see. I think we owe it to the fans there at Chatsworth stadium to keep on winning games there," said Kadodia.

“We started with that win against Chippa and then the draw against Arrows so hopefully we can go back there on Tuesday and get a win against Siwelele.

“We got a busy week ahead to prepare and two of our defenders are just coming back from injury, so we are just trying to build the momentum within the team right now. I think our players have done really well so far this season and the coaching unit also is part of that success."

The two City defenders that the charman is referring to are Mfanafuthi Mkhize and Siphamandla Ncanana, who picked up injuries ahead of the international window, but Kadodia said they expect them to be fit by Tuesday for their encounter with the Free State side.

Last season, in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, forward Joslin Kamatuka emerged as a star performer for the Durban club - scoring 14 goals and playing a pivotal role in their promotion to the big league.

The Namibian has so far shown signs to carry on his goal form this season. Kamatuka scored the late winner against Chippa as the Durbanites recorded a home victory at Chatsworth Stadium last month.

The 34-year-old striker has been a game-changer for the boys in blue and is one of the players currently on international duty where he shares the dressing room with veterans of the game like Peter Shalulile of Mamelodi Sundowns.

“Kamatuka will be back with us this week. He had to go back home for the World Cup qualifiers but will start training once he’s back. I think the team really enjoys his spirit and he’s been in form for us lately so lets see how it goes next week,” Kadodia said.
