Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sipho Mbule's agent Mike Makaab has apologised for speaking about a possible move by his player to Kaizer Chiefs.

Makaab said on Sunday evening that Mbule had been ‘offered’ to Chiefs.

The 27-year-old Mbule left Sundowns after he was loaned out to Sekhukhune United, as the deal was terminated early due to disciplinary issues.

Reports said that Mbule attended training while under the influence of alcohol.

Makaab Issues Public Apology to Kaizer Chiefs and Announces Social Media Break

“I reacted in an emotional manner without giving enough thought as to how this would be seen by all the stakeholders and Kaizer Chiefs,” said Makaab.

“I apologise to the SD Kaizer Jr and the club, as it was never my intention to create any problem for both him and the club.

“Contrary to what most of the supporters believe, I have nothing but respect and admiration for a great institution that has played such a major role in SA football.”

Following the events of the last few days, Makaab said he would like to avoid future incidents.

“I’m taking a small break from social media and hope to speak to all of you soon.”

Last week, Chiefs announced the departure of  Chivaviro, who has left the club with immediate effect.

The forward joined Chiefs in June 2023, and the club chose not to extend his two-year contract.

In total, Chivaviro has made 45 appearances for Chiefs while scoring nine goals.

Chivaviro did not reach his full potential with Chiefs, as he struggled with injury during the 2023/2024 season.

Chiefs completed another deflating season in the Betway Premiership as they ended ninth, their second league campaign in a row in which they finished outside the top eight.
