Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is bracing himself for one of the toughest tests of the season when the Sky Blues host Premier League champions Liverpool on Sunday.

The Norwegian marksman lauded the quality of the opposition, describing Jürgen Klopp’s side as a formidable outfit with no obvious flaws.

“I think they’re a really solid side,” said Haaland.

“They won the Premier League, so they’re obviously a fantastic team with a lot of quality players. I don’t really see any weaknesses. Of course, they’ve had a few struggles here and there, but overall, they’re such a complete team.

“That’s what makes them one of the strongest sides in the league. They’re the champions, playing with the golden badge, so it’s definitely going to be a tough game.”

Pressed further on potential chinks in Liverpool’s armour, Haaland again emphasised their balance and depth.

“I haven’t thought too much about the game yet. To be honest, they’re such a complete team — with about £450 million spent on players, I don’t think they have any weaknesses.”

Despite the growing tension in the title race — with Arsenal currently occupying top spot — Haaland insisted Manchester City’s focus remains squarely on themselves.

“I think we shouldn’t focus too much on anyone else,” he explained.

“Our main goal is to keep improving as a team and as individuals, to get better every time we step on the pitch.

“We want to take it one game at a time. It’s not about looking at other teams; it’s about concentrating on ourselves and how we can continue to grow and perform better. That’s the most important thing for us.”

Haaland also reflected on his own outstanding start to the season, crediting his personal discipline and recovery routines for keeping him at his peak.

“I’d say yes, this is the best version of myself — I’ve never felt better than I do now,” he admitted.

“To stay in the right mindset, I make sure I recover properly and follow my treatment routines. I do my personal work at home, keep up with everything I need to do, and try to stay connected and focused on the pitch.

“Off the pitch, I relax as much as possible. It sounds simple, but it’s actually quite difficult to maintain that balance.”
