AB de Villers and Dale Steyn lead the tributes after Proteas' epic Test victory at Eden Gardens

The Proteas’ monumental Test victory over India at Eden Gardens has been lauded all over social media.

Renowned India broadcaster Harsha Bogle, who has previously been critical of the Proteas, sang coach Shukri Conrad and captain Temba Bavuma's praises.

Former captain AB de Villiers was equally full of praise for the Proteas.

Fellow skipper Faf du Plessis, who had suffered a 3-0 whitewash on the last tour of India in 2019, was simple in his appreciation.

Fast bowler Dale Steyn played a pivotal role in the Proteas' last Test victory in Nagpur 15 years ago and conveyed his well-wishes to the team in India.

 Meanwhile, wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi was more emotional after the win.
