The police in Sekhukhune are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder following incidents at Ga-Mogashoa, Limpopo, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at around 7am.

Police received a complaint of a murder and mob attack and rushed to the scene, where they found two men lying on the ground with severe injuries.

One man, 26, was confirmed dead at the scene, while the other, 30, survived.

Preliminary investigations suggest the two men were involved in a heated altercation, which led to the younger man’s death. The surviving man was attacked by a mob that held him responsible for the death. He was rescued by police and transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Limpopo Provincial Commissioner of Police, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, condemned the act of vigilantism, warning that those involved in mob justice would face the full might of the law.
