From blind Semillon tastings to Pinotage storytelling sessions and Bordeaux-style blends, Wine Town Stellenbosch 2025 is giving visitors a rare chance to engage with the heritage, people and flavours of South Africa’s wine capital.
The celebration, which runs until August 3, includes over 60 producers and a wide mix of events, from vineyard tours to music-infused tastings - all leading up to the flagship Stellenbosch Wine Festival.
Now live with a diverse nine-day programme, the event brings together some of the country’s top producers including Beyerskloof, Ernie Els Wines, Spier, and Waterford Estate. Highlights include vertical tastings, winemaker dinners, happy hour specials, and themed events at wine bars and restaurants.
The festivities culminate in the Stellenbosch Wine Festival, held at the town hall from August 1 - 2. More than 60 producers will pour over 200 wines in a walkaround tasting, with live entertainment and a graze table curated by chefs Adele Grewar and Bertus Basson.
Standout events include the Six Shades of Semillon at Bertha Wine Bar on July 29, and Pinotage Stories at Simon Wine Emporium on July 30.
Live music, storytelling, themed tastings, and exclusive discounts round out the offering, while the Stay & Play initiative encourages visitors to turn the experience into a weekend escape.
