Western Cape residents face a wet Sunday with scattered rainfall, while much of South Africa remains dry and chilly.

South Africans can expect a mix of weather conditions this Sunday, with significant rainfall predicted for parts of the Western Cape, while the rest of the country will enjoy mostly fine and cool weather.
According to the South African Weather Service (SAWS), a band of showers is forecast to affect areas such as Springbok, Hon, Vredendal, Worcester, and Cape Town.
Rainfall probabilities range from 30% to 40% across these regions, with a 20% chance of isolated showers expected in places like Sutherland and Beaufort West. Some areas may experience scattered rainfall with up to a 60% chance of precipitation.
In contrast, much of the interior and eastern parts of the country, including cities like Johannesburg, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, and Durban, will see fine to partly cloudy skies.
Temperatures across the country will generally remain cool, with colder conditions expected in Polokwane, Ermelo, and Newcastle. Warmer weather is forecast for parts of the Eastern Cape, including Mthatha, East London and Qgeberha.

SAWS confirmed that no severe weather alerts have been issued for Sunday, suggesting that although the Western Cape will see rain, it is not expected to be disruptive.
Residents in the Western Cape are advised to keep umbrellas handy, while much of the country can look forward to a crisp but pleasant winter’s day.
