The South Africa session of the “Innovation · Openness · Shared Development” Global Dialogue, hosted by China Media Group (CMG) was held in Johannesburg this week.

Chinese and South African representatives, including senior government officials, business leaders and scholars, attended the event. CMG President Shen Haixiong and South African Minister of Science and Innovation Blade Nzimande delivered video remarks. China’s Ambassador to South Africa Wu Peng, South Africa’s Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Alvin Botes, and Member of Parliament Tshilidzi Munyai addressed the event on-site.
Speakers noted that the recently concluded Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee has charted new directions for China’s high-quality development and high-level opening-up, bringing fresh opportunities for Africa–China cooperation.
During the event, CMG released the “China ESG” Report on the Sustainable Development of Chinese Enterprises Overseas, highlighting cooperation achievements in areas such as green growth and social responsibility.
The dialogue also featured exchanges on innovation, youth development and media collaboration, with students actively engaging in discussions with guests.
Participants agreed that strengthening Africa–China cooperation will contribute to a more open, inclusive and sustainable future.
