Crowds have started to gather at Durban's Curries Fountain for a march in support of KwaZulu-Natal South African Police Service (SAPS) Commissioner, Lt-Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
The march is expected to get underway and will continue through the streets of Durban and end up at Hoy Park precinct, close to the Durban Magistrates Court.
The march comes on the back of Mkhwanazi's explosive allegations levelled against SAPS Minister Senzo Mchunu, his close associate Brown Mogotsi and Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection, Lieutenant General Shadrack Sibiya, as key and central tenets to the alleged interference in police operations, including the disbanding of a task team investigating political killings.

Mchunu has since been placed on special leave by President Cyril Ramaphosa, and a commission of inquiry has been established to investigate Mkhwanazi's claims.
