Witness C is expected to testify before the Madlanga Commission on political interference in the police force and also clarify matters around notorious businessman Katiso “KT” Molefe’s questionable granted bail.

Witness C’s testimony comes four days after Witness A and B testified. The previous witnesses’ statements were chilling, implicating cops, hawks, judges and metro police officials who worked tirelessly to protect ruthless and violent criminals.

On Tuesday, IOL reported Witness A revealed how the Hawks and Gauteng Traffic Police actively disrupted the arrest of alleged Molefe at his multimillion-rand Sandhurst residence late last year.

Witness A stated that a planned search and seizure related to the Armand Swart murder investigation occurred at Molefe’s house in December.

He said the hawks almost derailed the mission. At the same time, a police helicopter was deployed to hover above the property in what he described as an attempt to intimidate or surveil officers involved in the operation.

Witness B detailed that the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) officer, Johannes Mokgatle, falsely reported sick from work, only to be found at Molefe’s residence during his arrest.

Witness B said the officer’s covert presence at the scene has raised serious questions of interference and internal misconduct within the JMPD.

According to the witness, Mokgatle’s claim of being unwell and resting at home was a blatant lie.

Investigations later uncovered that instead of recuperating, Mokgatle actively appeared during the police operation to confront investigators in a bid to disrupt the high-profile arrest mission.

The commission continues to her testimony on corruption in the SAPS.
