Witness B, a police investigator, takes the stand before the Madlanga Commission on Wednesday to testify on criminal activities, including developments in the murder case of engineer Armand Swart.
Testifying partially behind closed doors due to security threats, Witness B is part of the elite investigative team now living in a safe house after receiving credible death threats tied to the Swart probe.
Her appearance follows damning revelations by Witness A earlier this week, who alleged that top law enforcement units actively disrupted the planned arrest of alleged underworld boss Katiso “KT” Molefe at his luxury Sandhurst estate in December 2024
Witness A described how the Hawks and Gauteng Traffic Police nearly sabotaged the high-profile raid, during which a police helicopter hovered aggressively over the property.
This is a move, according to him, that sought to intimidate officers executing a search and seizure operation.
“It was a police traffic helicopter hovering so low over his house, we had to report it and call for reinforcements,” Witness A said.
Inside Molefe’s home, investigators found a cache of sensitive documents, including Transnet-linked tender files and SK Group paperwork—raising red flags over potential procurement fraud.
One document raised eyebrows: a page filled with repeated signatures, as if someone had been practicing forgeries.
The commission is hearing whether Swart’s murder is tied to broader corruption networks involving public tenders and organised crime.
