Former Umkhonto Wesizwe Party secretary-general, Floyd Shivambu, has confirmed that he will be consulting South Africans about the possibility of launching a new political party. However, Shivambu stated that he has no plans to resign from the MK Party.

Speaking at a briefing on Thursday, Shivambu said he will meet with various leaders and stakeholders around the country before embarking on the process.

Shivambu was removed as the party's SG two weeks ago after that an investigation into Shivambu's trip to Malawi to visit to fugitive pastor, Shepherd Bushiri's Enlightened Church found that it went against the party's constitution.

This is a developing story.
