The City of Cape Town has activated multiple donation drop-off points to assist residents affected by the storms.
The City appealing for donations of non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, nappies, baby formula, blankets and bedding as disaster relief teams continue responding to weather-related incidents across the province.
The designated drop-off points are the following fire stations:
City Disaster Risk Management spokesperson Charlotte Powell said residents could also support the municipality’s relief partners.
“Anyone who wishes to donate to general relief efforts, but also just to ease the load on the City’s NGO partners, is encouraged to do so,” she said.
Flooding has been reported in at least 26 informal areas around the city. Assessments to date show that 10 703 structures have sustained weather-related impacts, affecting approximately 41 635 persons.
Weather conditions are expected to start easing later Tuesday.

Incidents that pose an immediate threat to life or property should be reported to the Public Emergency Communication Centre on 021 480 7700.
