At a media briefing at Parliament on Sunday, the NCC's Fadiel Adams claimed that 15 members of the PKTT stormed a house in Westridge, Mitchell’s Plain, searching for Adams.

Police said they would not be commenting on claims of an arrest attempt by alleged members of the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT) at a property formerly linked to National Coloured Congress (NCC) founder and MP Fadiel Adams in the early hours of Saturday.
Adams on Sunday lodged a charge of intimidation after he said during the alleged operation, a family at the Westridge property was harassed and held at gunpoint.
Adams made the explosive claims during a media briefing at Parliament yesterday, further alleging that the raid was orchestrated by KwaZulu-Natal provincial commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
When approached for comment, SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said police would not be commenting on the matter.
During the briefing, Adams said he would not be intimidated.
“I made it clear to this man weeks ago: don’t come with rifles into my house and traumatise my children, which is what the PKTT is known for. What does he do? He allows it to happen anyway. I will not be intimidated,” he said.
He said the property had been transferred several weeks ago and no longer belonged to him.
“Accountability does not exist within the South African Police Service. These people are a law unto themselves.
“On Saturday morning at 4am, my previous residence was raided by the PKTT. I no longer live there. With a budget of hundreds of millions of rands, this unit cannot even get an address right.
“The result of this is that an innocent teacher, a 30-year-old woman, had a firearm pointed at her face, her husband was forced to lie on the ground in the middle of winter, and her 12-year-old son was assaulted by someone claiming to be a police officer,” he said.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said an intimidation case was registered at the Lentegeur police station.
"The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and no arrests have been made," he said.
Adams claimed the raid was linked to his recent questioning of the continued tenure of Lieutenant-General Dumisani Khumalo as head of Crime Intelligence, despite his arrest on fraud and corruption charges. He raised the matter with acting police minister Firoz Cachalia during a portfolio committee meeting in Parliament last week.
He also linked the alleged raid to his 2024 visit to Westville Prison, where he interviewed the convicted killer of Sindiso Magaqa.
In March, Mkhwanazi told the ad hoc committee he believed there had been an abuse of resources by Adams during the Westville Prison visit.
“There is apparently an arrest warrant out for me. I do not know what crime I have committed, how it was obtained, or what lies are contained in the statement, but I will comply,” Adams said.
