Alleged gang boss Jerome ‘Donkie’ Booysen's home targeted in burglary

POLICE are investigating a burglary at the home of alleged Sexy Boys gang leader, Jerome “Donkie” Booysen.

The home invasion took place just after 11am on Tuesday.

At the time of the incident, the domestic worker on the premises was at home and was ambushed by the unknown suspects.

The woman was tied up.

The provincial police spokesperson, Frederick van Wyk, confirmed the incident.

“Bellville South police registered a house robbery case following an incident on Tuesday, at 11.05am at a premises in Glenhaven, Bellville South.

“According to reports, the female worker in the house was tied up. No injuries reported. The attackers were unidentified males," Van Wyk said.

“The homeowner was not present at the house at the time of the incident. The investigation continues regarding items that were stolen.

"No arrest has been made yet," he added.

Booysen is currently on trial in the Western Cape High Court on an array of charges, including the murder of steroid king, Brian Wainstein.

The case was back before the court on Tuesday.

Wainstein was murdered at his Constantia, Cape Town, home in August 2017 while asleep next to his child and spouse.

Booysen’s co-accused, alleged underworld kingpins Mark Lifman and Andre Naude, were gunned down in recent months as the trial continues.

Booysen also faces a drug trial, as both cases cannot run at the same time.

Booysen and his co-accused Kenneth Hansen, Kristo Mariens, Clinton Langeveld, Jennen Jansen and Herbert Zoutman face over 90 charges of drug trafficking.
