Padel fever has arrived in Mother city and Padel Life Pinelands is leading the charge, gearing up for the Cape Times Mixed Americano Tournament, a social-meets-competitive celebration of Cape Town’s new sporting obsession.
The tournament will be hosted on Sunday, November 23, open to all skill levels. It runs from 9am to 11am at Padel Life’s six world-class courts located within the Old Mutual Sports Complex in Pinelands. Players can register via the Playtomic app for R280, with exciting prizes up for grabs.
Since opening its doors, Padel Life Pinelands has quickly become the beating heart of Cape Town’s padel community. The club features five covered courts and one open-air court, ensuring all-weather play for casual players and competitive athletes alike. Its on-site Vida e Caffè, Pro Shop, and social lounge area provide a relaxed space for players and families to connect before and after matches.
The club’s ethos is rooted in accessibility and inclusion, offering daily Americano tournaments for men, women, and mixed groups, creating opportunities for players of all abilities to experience the thrill of padel in a welcoming, community-driven setting.

The Mixed Americano format is a fast-paced, social style of play where partners rotate after each match, allowing everyone to play with and against different opponents. The event promises high energy, camaraderie, and an inclusive atmosphere for players across all levels.
Spectators are welcome to join and enjoy the lively atmosphere, good music, and great coffee from Vida e Caffè. The tournament will also feature spot prizes and giveaways, courtesy of The Cape Times and Padel Life Pinelands.
