THE parents of missing eight-year-old Anovuyo Oncke from Phulmani Village are hopeful that the R50 000 reward being offered for information on her whereabouts will yield new leads.
Community worker Beryl Williams, said Anovyuo’s parents Luvuyo Mantile and Samantha Oncke were encouraged that there would be some movement with the case, two months after their daughter went missing.
Williams said: “They were quite shocked but also relieved that at least something is happening now with the R50 000 reward and hope and pray that something will come out of this.”
Anovuyo Oncke was last seen on Saturday, September 6.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said that the Wynberg Family Violence Child Protection Sexual Offences Unit is offering a cash reward to any who can assist with information that can lead to the safe return of Anovuyo.
“Oncke who went missing on 7 September 2025, after she went to play with friends in Riemvasmaak, Phumlani Village and never returned.
“Police have exhausted all avenues in efforts to reunite the child with her family," Twigg said.
The family and community have searched near an open field where someone saw Anovuyo and her friends playing, Pelican Park, Zeekoeivlei, Riemvasmaak, Jim se Bos, Egoli and the big dam on the farms.
The Grade 1 Perivale Primary School learner was last seen wearing black pants and a pink pajama top.
