MTHATHA: Winnie Madikizela-Mandela’s lawyers are expected to continue argument at High Court on Tuesday, where they submitted an application to overturn a decision that she no longer has ownership on the Mandela property in Qunu, Eastern Cape.
Madikizela-Mandela was left out of her former husband Nelson Mandela’s will, which was released in February 2014 after his death on December 5, 2013.
“All we want is to win the case on behalf of our client, and that is to get the property back to her and nullify this decision,” said Mvuzo Notyesi, head of Madikizela-Mandela’s team.
AbaThembu Royal Family family spokesperson Chief Daludumo Mtirara requested Madikizela Mandela on Monday not to refer the matter to the High Court. Graca Machel and the Nelson Mandela Trust were represented by their lawyers, which included George Bizos, one of the executors of Mandela’s will.
