MG unveils sporty new five-door hatch

MG5 will apparently only be available as a five-door hatchback.

Rumours around the cybergarage suggest a range of high-output small engines with anything from 85 to 120kW.

These are the first official photos of the production MG5, just ahead of its official launch at the upcoming Beijing motor show;

We're still 18 months away from a European (or South African) launch, however; since the 'export' models will have considerably more upmarket spec, stiffer suspension and a wider range of engines than the domestic version, which will apparently be offered with only a 77kW, 1.8-litre petrol engine.

Rumours around the cybergarage suggest at least one turbodiesel among a range of high-output small (one litre to 1.5-litre) engines with anything from 85 to 120kW.
