The World Sports Betting Cape Town Met is returning to the HollywoodBets Kenilworth Racecourse on January 31, 2026.

The Met remains one of South Africa’s most iconic lifestyle experiences that brings together fashion, style, elegance, indulgence, and the excitement of a live sporting event.

Organisers promise an entirely new dimension for 2026, wrapped in a theme that invites pure creative freedom: Symphony of Style.

The theme blends fashion with musicality, encouraging guests to interpret style in their own way, whether this is couture-level dramatic or beautiful and elegant. “Symphony of Style speaks to individuality,” said Patience Shabalala, Events Manager at World Sports Betting.

“It is about creating harmony with whatever inspires you. If you can dream it, it belongs at the Met.”

The 2025 World Sports Betting Cape Town Met had a fashion showcase, which was inspired by the daring theme 'Couture Unleashed,' and celebrated South Africa’s rich talent and diverse design perspectives.

Curated by the renowned Gavin Rajah, the showcase featured nine exceptional designers, each pushing the boundaries of innovation and craftsmanship and delivered breathtaking collections.

The designers were Imprint, Craig Port, Kim Govaars, Gavin Rajah, Thula Sindi, Sipho Mbuto, Stephen van Eeden, Ramo Jozsy, Fikile Sokhulu, Masango by Siphesihle and Cindy Bam.

While the Met is known for its red-carpet glamour, there are moments when everything stops: “It goes dead quiet when the horses are in the starting gates. You can hear the gallop before you see it.

“It does not matter if you are in a marquee or on the grandstand; everyone is focused, completely present. It is powerful, and it is unique to the day,” added Shabalala.
