Lerato Nxumalo is a married woman , and she is not holding back on her thoughts about the dating scene back home.

The actress and content creator, known for her roles on “Durban Gen”, Scandal!” and “Lingashoni”, recently revealed that she is officially off the market after tying the knot with her Swedish partner.

The big reveal came with glimpses of her intimate wedding on Instagram, where she finally confirmed what many of her fans had been waiting for.

Nxumalo had been teasing her relationship since 2022 through playful TikTok videos, but never fully showed her partner until the wedding weekend. The mystery man is no longer a mystery, and the content creator is now proudly Mrs LP.

However, what really got people talking was her Instagram story this week, where she declared that the South African dating pool was “bleak.”

Nxumalo did not hold back, saying that women who want serious relationships should consider travelling because “most men in South Africa are conditioned to being womanisers”, pointing out how it has been normalised and tied to ego and sex addiction.

“The dating pool in South Africa is bleak. If you truly are a person that wants to meet someone and be in a serious relationship, you need to travel.”

“Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to do so, but just try. Most men in SA are conditioned to being womanisers because it's been normalised and it's a way to boost their egos and feed their sex addiction,” she wrote.

A screenshot of her Instagram story was later taken to the X timeline (formerly Twitter), where some shared mixed feelings about Nxumalo’s statement.

One X user @CharleneBu59002 congratulated her but questioned her new role as a “self-appointed dating expert”, writing:

“Congratulations to Lerato Nxumalo for getting married, but who made her spokesperson of the dating pool? Does she know men are men regardless of the country they come from 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣????”

It is not the first time the newlywed has kept it real with her followers. Earlier this year, she casually revealed that her wedding ring cost R1.5 million, which sparked a range of comments ranging from shock to pure sarcasm.

Her wedding itself was low-key but elegant; she walked down the aisle in a custom Scalo by Sello Medupe gown, stunned in the fitted dress with a corset waistline that highlighted her figure.

She kept her natural hair in chic twists, adding to the effortless look. The decor was minimalist with lush white flowers, and her guest list was clearly intimate.
