Fasten your seatbelts, folks, because the future of relationships is about to get a tech-savvy twist!

A viral TikTok video catapults us into the year 2040, painting a picture of what life could look like with AI companions, or as some might call them, "robot husbands".

Imagine a world where emotional needs are not just met, but are anticipated with a precision that even the most attentive human partner could envy.

In this futuristic video, we meet a woman sitting comfortably on her couch, snuggled beside her non-human counterpart, whom she affectionately refers to as her “husband”.

With a quirk of nostalgia, she reflects: "It's just remembering how awful it was being married to a human man. It's so different with you."

Gone are the days of having to remind your spouse to tackle the laundry or take out the rubbish. With AI companions, chores become as uncomplicated as saying, "Pete, can you set up the Christmas tree early this year, I'm feeling early in my celebratory spirit?"

To which Pete, in his charming metallic voice, replies, "Sure, why not?”

The woman jokes: "Thanks, love, a human husband would have told me he has arthritis."

But the fun doesn’t stop there!

In another scenario, a woman confides in her AI husband about her discovery of a thing called “divorce lawyers" and asks if he knows what they did.

With impeccable robotic wit, he says, “Specialists in relationship termination protocols. They would distribute assets and custody of offspring.”

She responds: "Must have been tough."

What’s particularly captivating is how flexible and customisable these AI partners can be.

Fancy a touch of Jason Momoa with your morning coffee instead of the usual Will Smith charm? No problem!

"Honey, I think I’ve had enough of the mannerisms of Will Smith in the last two years. Can you act like Jason Momoa from now on?” And with a smile, he responds, "Always at your service, my love."

As if that weren’t enough to tickle your curiosity, the video cheekily depicts a woman presenting her AI husband with what she dubs an “ancient artefact” - a wedding ring!

The robot, with his supreme intelligence, explains, "They were primitive ownership indicators. Humans lacked a built-in relationship status display."

The wife utters back: "That was very analog."

But before you don your rose-tinted glasses and leap into the arms of a non-human partner, it's crucial to weigh the potential perils.

Sure, AI companions could provide unparalleled companionship, emotional support and convenience, but they may also introduce significant risks related to social isolation, emotional development and ethical considerations.

The integration of AI technology into the social fabric of our lives could radically alter human relationships in ways we are only beginning to fathom.

As we stroll towards the dawn of a new era in relationships, the question looms: Will we embrace AI companions as our future partners, or will human connection remain an irreplaceable gem in our lives?

One thing's for sure: the world of love is evolving, and it may just be a little more mechanical than before!
