Michael Phillips is opening up about living with a rare medical condition and the challenges it has brought to his confidence, relationships and daily life.

Diagnosed with a micropenis in 2024, Phillips believes his is the smallest in the world, at 0,9cm.

He recently appeared on the UK’s "This Morning" to advocate for body diversity and break the silence surrounding men’s health.

For years, Phillips navigated the challenges of his condition in isolation.

"It should be known that it's a medical condition, and if more people realise that it's a condition when they are young, then they can be taken to a doctor and hopefully get treatment that will provide some level of help.

"A lot of people think, if you're small, you're small; they don't know that there's an actual condition that could be the cause behind it," Phillips said.

Reflecting on his youth, he shared: "I would say probably around high school and dealing with girls and stuff, but I was always under the belief that, like maybe I'm a late bloomer, maybe one day it will get to normal size, and then it never did, it just never did."

When asked by the show’s hosts if he ever sought support from his parents, Phillips revealed the loneliness of his journey: "No, I'm adopted, and I didn't really talk to them about stuff like that. I just kept it to myself, like when I was younger, teens, twenties and stuff like that, I tried to keep it to myself.

"I was always single. Even though I had friends, they probably wondered why I wasn't dating, and I just didn't want to go through that.

"I kept it secret pretty much, there was a few girlfriends in high school that knew about it, but as far as I know, it never got around. I didn't get picked on for it or anything, because nobody knew."

The condition affects more than just his self-esteem; it impacts basic daily functions.

"I can't go out and have a one-night stand, things like that, but it also affects you with your ability to use the restroom, your confidence. You can urinate standing, but even sitting down can be tricky with clean up and everything."

Dating remains a complex hurdle, and Phillips admitted he has tried every approach to navigate intimacy.

"You can try to be upfront, you can try and talk to somebody for a while, get a connection and then tell them, or sometimes you don't say nothing at all."

Despite unsuccessful attempts with fat injections and the high costs of surgery, he remains hopeful.

"Most of the options they do aren't like increasing your size, it's like liposuction down there or like cutting a ligament so that it can hang a little bit further down, but in every instance, what ever they did the max you can gain is like an inch, inch and a half, and I'd still be under what is known as a micro penis.

"It's very expensive for the little bit that you get."

Phillips finds comfort in the support he has seen online sharing: "You don't really get the perspective of women unless it's brought out there, and there's been a few stories, and in the comments, there is a huge percentage of people who don't care about that sort of thing."

His advice to others who may be dealing with health issues that they have kept secret is to find a space where they can "talk freely".

"Even if it's just one-on-one with somebody. There is no reason that you can't talk about it. We all have issues, some more than others, but there's always somebody out there who has it worse than you

Phillips's vulnerability has resonated deeply with viewers.

@mummy_loves_lolabelle commented: "Huge respect to this man. It takes a lot of courage to come on a national TV programme and tell his story! Hat off to him! I hope he finds the right person for him, he deserves that."

@greensofthestoneage wrote: "This is the bravest thing I’ve seen in a long time. For a man to come out and say this, knowing the fallout he would get worldwide online and most likely from other men, less so than women. He probably doesn’t realise how much he has helped other men ❤️."
