Spooky fun awaits: Halloween events in Joburg

Come dressed up this Halloween for some spooky fun at Joburg Zoo.

Halloween at The Johannesburg Zoo

This Halloween, the Joburg Zoo will be opening its gates after hours as it hosts an array of spooky and fun-filled activities for families to enjoy.

The festivities will include exploring decorated trails and themed stations.

For the youngsters, there will be various trick-or-treat points. There will also be live entertainment, and the zoo staff and volunteers will be on hand to guide the flow.

The gathering will also allow parents and children to enjoy the special experience of enjoying the zoo under the stars.

When: Friday, October 31, from 5pm to 9pm.

Fourways Mall Night Market - Halloween Edition

This gathering is another opportunity for families to enjoy the Halloween atmosphere under the Jozi stars.

Attendees are urged to come dressed to impress as there will be the Best Costume prizes up for grabs, including four Best-Dressed Kids, individual awards and prizes for pairs.

There will also be a Pumpkin Carving Competition as well as live music, delicious food and artisanal vendors.

Gatsby - A Cirque Extravaganza

The Cirk will present a restaging of their onstage acrobatic production, “Gatsby - A Cirque Extravaganza”. 

This show is set in the dazzling world of the roaring 1920s. The immersive theatrical will see a cast of acrobats soar above in a display of aerial skills, while contortionists and dancers weave through the stage, embodying the spirit of Gatsby’s legendary parties.

Where: The Cirk at Cresta Shopping Centre.

When: Runs until January 31. Show times are Friday and Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm.
