This theatrical extravaganza by renowned Cape Town-born comedian Marc Lottering is returning to the Mother City this week after a spectacular showing during the festive season, where celebrities such as Siya Kolisi and Aisha Barker were in attendance.

It is produced by Anwar Mc Kay and is directed by Lara Foot, with musical direction by Charl-Johan Lingenfelder, and choreography by Grant Van Ster.

Apart from Lottering in the lead role, the rest of the cast includes David Chevers, Carlo Daniels, Jill Levenberg, Sizwesandile Mnisi, Kate Normington and Anzio September.

“Colleen The Musical” tells the story of true love’s challenges in the fast-paced world of cashiers, customers, cigarette counters and supervisors.

Where: The Pam Golding Theatre at The Baxter Theatre Centre.

This play by Zakes Mda is a sharp, humorous and deeply moving two-hander set in a sluggish government food-aid queue. 

It centres around two women - a sharp-tongued Lady and a weary, witty Woman (performed by Awethu Hleli and Tamzin Daniels), whose lives intersect in unexpected ways.
