Marc Lottering is back in the spotlight with a new musical in Cape Town

Renowned Cape Town-born comedian Marc Lottering is debuting his musical in The Mother City this weekend.

It is produced by Anwar Mc Kay and is directed by Lara Foot, with musical direction by Charl-Johan Lingenfelder, and choreography by Grant Van Ster.

Apart from Lottering in the lead role, the rest of the cast includes David Chevers, Carlo Daniels, Jill Levenberg, Sizwesandile Mnisi, Kate Normington and Anzio September.

“Colleen The Musical” tells the story of true love’s challenges in the fast-paced world of cashiers, customers, cigarette counters and supervisors. 

Where: The Pam Golding Theatre at The Baxter Theatre Centre.

When: Saturday, November 29. Show times are at 3pm and 7.30pm.

One Man, Two Guvnors

This fast-paced comedy blends British farce with live music, physical gags and vibrant characters.

Based on Carlo Goldoni’s “A Servant of Two Masters”, it follows Francis Henshall as he finds himself caught in a whirlwind of mistaken identities, misunderstandings and unexpected twists.

The play is produced in collaboration with the Waterfront Theatre School and the Helen O’Grady Drama Academy. 

Presented by Red Rocket, the majority of the cast and crew are made up of employees from the African Independent Power Producer. 

It will also feature Red Rocket’s band Jun & the Kilowatts, as well as Cape Town jazz artist Duncan Johnson as the music director.

It was developed also in support of the Cheslin Kolbe Foundation and ASSITEJ South Africa.
