After more than twenty years on air channel e.tv's soapie "Scandal!" will be going off screens next year.

e.tv has confirmed that South African Film and Television award-winning soapie "Scandal!" will be going off screens after more than 20 years.
The channel explained that they believe "Scandal!" has reached the end of its life cycle and would be on air until the end of June 2026.
Since its debut, "Scandal!" became a household name in South Africa, captivating millions of viewers with powerful storylines, unforgettable characters and performances that have consistently set new benchmarks in local television.
For over two decades, the series has reflected the complexities of everyday life, sparking conversations and providing entertainment of the highest standard.
e.tv extended deep gratitude to the company behind "Scandal!" Ochre Moving Pictures and paid tribute to the cast, crew, writers, directors and all those who made the soapie possible.
"Producing 'Scandal!' has been an incredible journey and a true labour," said Stan Joseph, Executive Producer at Ochre Moving Pictures.
"Over twenty years, our writers, directors, actors, and crew have poured their hearts into bringing authentic South African stories to life. We are deeply grateful to e.tv for their trust and to our audiences for their unwavering support. While it is bittersweet to say goodbye, we are proud of the legacy 'Scandal!' leaves behind."
As the television landscape continues to change, more long-running shows have come to the end of their cycles. This year the curatin offficially closed on SABC's "Muvhango" after 27 years on air.
In 2023, long running soapie "7de Laan" said goodbye to Mzansi audiences after 23 years on air.
